The majority of landfill waste is comprised of food, plastics and paper which we can keep out of landfills. We can easily be part of the solution by just composting more of our food scraps & organic material and also properly recycling our plastics & paper!!

The United States produces too much trash. Over 300 million tons yearly which is nearly 1,800 pounds per person every year! The USA is only 4% of the world’s population, but it is responsible for 12% of the planet’s trash! And where does that all go? Yep. Landfills.

Landfills can cause harm to the environment by contaminating the soil and water. Plus the emissions from trash-burning incinerators often include neurotoxins that can impair brain function, as well as cancer-causing pollutants, which can directly harm us and commonly poison wildlife.

Warriors On Waste

Additionally, landfill sites are a significant contributor to global warming as they generate and release biogas into the atmosphere.

If we do not take real action and change our ways, landfill sites will account for 10% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2025*

*According to reports by the International Solid Waste Association.

Reducing your landfill waste can go a long way to help curb the Pollution of the Planet and to Fight Climate Change!
